Dog Attacks on Sheep

These pictures were taken after these four lambs were fatally injured by dogs in May of 2001. Two dogs were involved, a pit bull and a black shepherd. Be aware the pens were inside a closed barn, about four and a half feet in height with another four foot of wire mesh above that. The dogs dug under the fence in a spot where there was no concrete footer for the pens. The dogs' owners had to pay a fine for not having their dogs licensed. At an earlier dog attack 11 lambs were killed by a pack of dogs. All of these dogs were eventually shot and killed. The state attorney general's office, sheriff, and county judges were all contacted. However, the only compensation rewarded was just $110. Net loss = Estimated value over $15,000. Pictures donated by Larry Carter of Carter Hampshires.
